Toilet module for Firefighting and Rescue Trains (FFRT) operating in tunnels, on railway bridges or on mountains
For the FFRT of the German Railways (DB) and in cooperation with the contractor Dräger Safety AG, customized WC-modules have been developed since May 2013. The technical specifications for this toilet module were guided by the demands for sanitary facilities of breakdown trains, and, due to the special features of the FFRT, they even go beyond. For example, the supporting frame of the module had to be constructed divisible to fit through the airlock system of the rescue wagon.
In particular, all components and parts are configured for a life cycle of more than 25 years. As for the sanitary cabin, the biggest one available at Glova was chosen. The so-called LBK-cabin is made of GRP and fulfils necessarily the high fire protection regulations for a firefighting train. For the same reason, stainless steel is used for the tanks for the flushing and black water as well as the connecting pipes. The sanitation system is a simple water-flushed toilet working with gravity only.
From a sanitary technology perspective, this is our most developed model so far.
